Dear MOVA Family,

2 weeks ago we realized we did not have any photos of people riding a bicycle in a city with our MOVA Jacket. Like good pro-looking pictures. But we are not professional models. Actually we are not models at all. Still, we know about design, composition and photography. At MOVA we have a strong DIY Philosophy we thought "let's go for it".

So yesterday we woke up at 4.30AM went to shoot some pictures :) This are actually photos I took when another photographers was taking picture. The official photos will come out in those days after a post-edition process.

We actually thought: Hey that's so cool to have real urban cyclists on our pictures. We should keep on working with non-models urban cyclists :) And we did it for real.

Here are a picture from the behind the scene:

Regarding the products and in particular the jacket here are the last news:

First of all we are very happy to see your positive responses regarding the waterproof zippers! That's great! THAT's FANTASTIC! :D We love that you loved the idea!!  We will show you the first prototype with integrated waterproof zippers soon.

Many of you have been asking for adding extra stuff to their existing pledge such a the sweater or jersey. This will be possible! No worries. It's actually a very good strategy because the shipping costs are very expensive for one item. Since you will anyway receive your Jacket, adding an extra item for you is not that expensive. It's a win-win situation :)

Also, some of you asked for an extra jacket they wanted to offer to a friend, wife or a girlfriend. It's also possible. You will have an extra possibility to add an extra jacket to your actual pledge on the 14th of April.

You will receive the survey on the 14th of April. You will have to tell us your address, phone number, jacket, sweater and jersey sizes. It will also be for you the only possibility to add extra stuff to your pledge!

plenty of love to everyone & RIDE IN PEACE

Do you want waterproof zippers?
about 9 years ago – Tue, Mar 21, 2017 at 11:30:56 PM

Dear MOVA family,

We have great news. First of all, the design of the jacket is getting better everyday as you can see in our last Youtube video. We have been improving the integrated-bag, the sleeves, the neck and there is a designer specifically working on the jacket fit, especially regarding arm's size. The arms have a to long but not that much in order to work well on and off the bike.

Waterproof zippers improvement:Lots of you have asked for Waterproof YKK zippers on the jacket. Waterproofing the front zipper and the under-the-arms zippers (anti-chuchas) would represent an increase of 9 USD / jackets.

We would like to know who would be interested in upgrading their jackets to waterproof zippers?

We need to get a vast majority of people agree on increasing the quality of the zippers and we might organize a vote to decide that all together. Please tell us what do you think about that in the comments.

We are creating weekly videos on our Youtube Channel to show you, Kickstarter backers, what we are doing and how we are doing it. We would love if you can tell us in the comments what kind of video you would like or what kind of video content you expect from us :). Feedbacks is lovely.

Regarding the factory, we are getting things moving very fast. Today, we are signing the legal contracts with 3 different manufacturers in Bogotá in order to get prototypes quickly. So the first prototypes should come out in two weeks.

To be updated make sure to subscribe to our channel and watch our videos. Thank you so much!

Ride in Peace,

Roland & the MOVA Team

Dear Cycling Family,

We have a wonderful news! We finally received the money from Kickstarter on our company's bank account here in Bogotá, Colombia! It might be seen as an easy step but it's actually quite complicated to get that amount of money moving from the US to Colombia especially if your company in only 1 year old :)

On a counter part, we just received a not-that-good news regarding our Colombian manufacturer. They do not have the capacity to receive MOVA's order this year. It means that we need to find other people who will be able to manufacture our jackets.

It that a real problem? Well no :) We know our business, and we have a solid team working on it. I have no doubt that in the coming weeks we will present you the people who will be manufacturing jackets.

It's not easy to find a manufacturer that has the technology to taped seam (in order to ensure a water resistance jacket). Only a few manufacturer use that technology here in Colombia. Oh! If any backers for Colombia know someone that could make that happened it would be great!

What about the surveys?

We have an egg vs chicken problem kind of thing. In order to send you the surveys, we need to be 100% sure of the CHILL SIDE FABRIC. If you did not know it yet, we decided to improve this fabric since we over-killed our funding goal.  We usually try to deliver better than what we promised.

Since we are still looking for the perfect chill fabric (light weight, resistant, breathable and plenty of colors) we did send the survey. Why ? Because you need to pick up colors! And we do not want to say... ups this will not be possible anymore because the fabric we chose does not have this color actually. Did you get it ? :D

Personal thinking about Women and urban cycling.

80% of urban cyclists are men 20% are women. And our customers reflect that! As such, 80% of Kickstarter backers are men. Our work at MOVA is to make urban cycling a better experience, especially to women. The main reasons why women do not ride bicycle in cities is because of an unsafe feeling while riding. We want to change that. We want to make women feel confortable on the saddle. And we deeply think that the jacket we create make that happen.

I also personally believe that we - men - have a key role to play in helping women feel safer on the saddle. I do not want to sound paternalist / machist or whatever. It's actually very different from the "HEY BABY, WANNA GET A RIDE?" and have the girl on the back seat of the motorcycle. It's actually giving the same conditions, same happiness feeling to the person you love! Showing the way by making the first cycling experience better, safer, more fun. So yes, I believe we can help our beloved to feel as happy as we are on a bicycle.

What do you think about that ? I would LOVE YOUR COMMENTS. It's awesome to be talking/writing with you. I truly love it.

Thanks & Ride in Peace

We've Made It ! <3
about 9 years ago – Sun, Feb 12, 2017 at 03:04:22 PM

Dear Cycling Family,

it's with a lot of pride and the rhythm of yesterday's Salsa in the ears that we announce you that WE'VE MADE IT. 480 new family members, that's ... a lot of superlatives adjectives like the coolest news, the most incredible experience, an excellent & perfect start to change the city together as well as great challenge for us.

So what happens next?
First of all, we will take a small break. Unfortunately, and that's the only critic we would make to Crowdfunding, it seems difficult to invite all of you to dance and enjoy a bit with us. Once the batteries are refiled - We go straight to the most exciting part of the crowdfunding experience: Making it Real. And you are the cornerstone of this second phase.

We will in a first time "consolidate" the information we have. This means some administrative data like where and to whom to ship but also a lot of cool stuff: You will have to choose the colors and the sizes and the possibility to adjust your pledge.

From all your feedback, we learned that the sizing chart we've made doesn't provide the adequate information and also that the pricing system wasn't clear at all for bundles which weren't proposed as rewards. THIS WILL BE BETTER =)

Once we've got that rollin, we take you to a ride through what we love the most: creating, producing, enhancing and shipping (not that sure about the last one) your products. Here also we will need you. You have no idea how we appreciate feedback. At the end it's YOUR jacket on which we're working.

So all this to say that in this second part of the project, we want to hand over two things to you:
- what you ordered, off course
-The ideal, the bike-related craziness that surrounds us and the joys it brings.

Thank you, you are awsome <3

Getting excited!!
about 9 years ago – Thu, Feb 09, 2017 at 10:46:09 PM

 Dear Cycling Family,

You are awesome people!! We are carefully collecting your answers about colors. It helps us a lot to see what you need. We are some very exciting news about jacket/jerseys/sweater :D

Tomorrow at 2PM we have a meet-up with the Juan David, a Kickstarter Backer who should be manufacturing the actual sweater. Crazy story, but real story :D We will show you how beautiful this sweater is.

Regarding the jerseys, we are thinking of adding an extra light to it. No promise there guys. But we would love to have your opinion on the idea itself. Comment needed!

To help you choose your size we will do a sizing video. We are still thinking how we will do this ;) We will talk about that later! Now we need to focus on the end of the Kickstarter Campaign that might go crazy anytime :P

We are working on the suggestions & feedbacks you made regarding the design of the jacket. We are obsessed about making the best product ever. And to do so, we need you. Yes you! Urban cyclist from planet earth. Are you here, connected with MOVA ? Ok, because we need to tell us what you think about our upgrades.

What will be upgraded in the final product with actual budget?

- Lighter fabric for chill side allowing a better carry and packing.
- Better details on the sleeves ending making the jacket look way better.

What will upgrade if we hit 100K in pledges?

- We will replace the front zippers of the hi-vis side with waterproof YKK zipper high quality zippers on the front of the jacket. It will be a major upgrade to the jacket.

Could you also tell us what you would love to see happening within the actual design?
